We will cover all elements of the Wood Badge I except: 

  • Scouting Fundamentals (please do online) and
  • Respect In Sport. 

You can attend and complete these items after.

Build your tool kit at this intensive Commission's Orientation where you will be empowered to champion your group to success. You will go back to your group full of new ideas and supercharged to deliver a great program. 

All Scouting volunteers are welcome to attend. Especially important that Group Commissioners (current, new and up & coming) and Support Scouters attend this.

Wood Badge Part 1 Scouter Training on the Canadian Path

KWA Scouthouse, 109 Ware St, Peterborough, Ontrario

Learning more about the Canadian Path as it applies to your program will help to enhance and build on what you are already doing. 

This will be a 1 day course where experienced trainers will guide participants through the online training syllabus in person with a group. Between modules, we will have games and activities so that we can have some fun and deomonstrate some program ideas.

St John Ambulance First Aid Trainers, Course - "free"

The Council has an exciting opportunity to train 6 Scouters to become certified St John First Aid Trainers at no cost to the Scouter.  In return the Scouter will run a minimum of 2 First Aid courses for the Council. 

The instructor course is 40 hours and upon successful completion of the course the candidates are required to team-teach and be monitored for certification as a St. John Ambulance Instructor and to qualify for instructor licensing by Ontario Council. The certificate is valid for three years.
