Quartermaster Advanced with National Food Safety Certification Exam

Two Weekends April 6-8 and June 15-17, 2018

The participants will have hands on experience in preparing and serving food, and proper sanitation in an indoor kitchen environment during the first weekend.  The second weekend will allow for more discussion about different environments (outdoor, back woods, etc.), various types of equipment, advanced menu planning and more. There will be assignments between the weekends as well.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn and develop a number of skills including menu planning, food purchasing, safe food handling, sanitation, food preparation and how to do food services in a variety of settings (indoor, outdoor) with limited or full equipment.  Participants will gain hands on experience, theoretical, and have the opportunity to network with other Scouters. The Quartermaster Course Lead Trainer is Derek Lawday, Canadore College Chef and School of Culinary Arts Professor.
