Scouts Canada - Amateur Radio Field Day Invitation - June 22 - 23, 2019

All Scouts, Scouters and their families are invited join the North Shore Amateur Radio Club (NSARC) and participate in the 2019 Field Day event being held at Purple Woods Conservation Area noon Saturday, June 22nd through to noon Sunday, June 23rd.

Field Day is the single most popular Amateur Radio on-the-air event held annually in Canada and the U.S.A.  More than 40,000 Radio Amateurs gather with their clubs, groups and friends to operate from remote locations, connecting with other HAM Operators world-wide.  For some, Field Day is a campout, practise for emergencies, an informal contest and, for all, FUN!

Field Day is an simple way to introduce Scouts of all ages to Amateur Radio.  For Troop and Pack Howlers, Field Day an excellent and local introduction to what J.O.T.A. – Jamboree On The Air is all about.

If you have ever wanted to learn more about HAM or were just curious, come out to Purple Wood Conservation Area for Field Day.  NSARC Operators will be set up by the Repeater Site in the north-west corner of the parking lot noon Saturday to noon Sunday, regardless of weather.
