White Pine Council (Charitable # 10776 1694 RR0205) is 1 of 20 Councils within Scouts Canada and is located in Eastern Ontario, hosting 4800 members in 100 Groups.  The Council generally covers the territory from Pickering to Napanee, up to the southern border of Algonquin Park. 

White Pine maintains 6 properties within its 7 Service Areas which benefit members by providing a variety of locations for delivering exciting, year-round outdoor program activities. The Council also runs a vibrant residential and day summer camp program out of Camp Samac in Oshawa, ON for youth ages 5 to 16.

White Pine Council is supported by the Central Ontario Service Centre (COSC) located in Toronto, Ontario. The COSC also services Central Escarpment, Greater Toronto and Shining Councils.




Brownsea Base is a water skills training program teaching Canoeing (Paddle Canada), Kayaking & Sailing skills. We are located at Rogers Cove in Peterborough, and run Tuesday & Thursday evenings from June 20 to Aug.15. The Program is open to ALL youth 11 years & up, in the General Public, Scouting or Guiding. We are staffed by dedicated local volunteer Scout Leaders. Please come out to our Open House at our Rogers Cove Boathouse any one evening May 30, 31 or June 1 between 6-8PM! More »

Owasco Area is seeking nominations for the position of Area Commissioner. This is a volunteer position that requires 16-20 hours per month on average. Owasco Area is comprised of Scouting Groups in the communities of Ajax, Pickering, and Uxbridge. The Area Commissioner (a registered member of Scouts Canada) is the recognized point of contact on issues of program evaluation and support. More »
